Spot Colour Separation
The cleanest, most accurate separation method for flat-colour artwork. Each colour in the design becomes a single, solid channel — no dots, no mixing, exact colour placement.

If your artwork has defined, flat colours with no gradients — and you need exact colour accuracy (especially Pantone matching) — spot colour separation is the correct method.
Typical colour count
Spot colour jobs typically range from 1 to 8 inks. Each colour is one screen. We plan the trapping and ink sequence to ensure clean, gap-free registration.
What Is Spot Colour Separation?
Spot colour separation isolates each flat colour in an artwork into its own independent channel. There are no halftone dots — each channel is a solid mask that tells the screen exactly where to deposit ink.
This produces the cleanest, most vibrant results for flat-colour designs — especially logos, text, and graphics where accurate colour reproduction is essential.
Trapping — a thin overlap between adjacent colours — is added to prevent white gaps from appearing due to slight misregistration on press. We handle this precisely based on your press tolerances.
